  1. When I turned this episode on, I thought to myself “Hey it would be cool for a Chris appearance……”

  2. Firstly, I’d like to say welcome back to Chris…but seeing as by the time you read this that will be a week ago I’ll just say “good to hear you again”. He must be proud to see his two Wolfpac Players carrying the weight with the greatest of ease as Booker T would say.

A lot of criticism has rightly been levelled at WWE’s commentary team and I want to get in on that action while also partially defending them. You were talking about Bo Dallas’ gimmick not working as well as it had on NXT and how he’s over as a face with part of the live crowd and I think JBL has a lot to do with this. Naturally a heel announcer should support the heels but 1) JBL also supports faces and cheerleads their catchphrases, and 2) JBL does too good a job of winning arguments and sounding convincing.

Bobby Heenan would defend the heels but it would be obvious he’s lying or distorting reality (e.g. “Jannety tried to escape through that barbershop window, what a coward!”) and Gorilla Monsoon would be appalled with his lies, sounding like the voice of reason. Cole tends to lets JBL be the loudest voice with the last word – Bradshaw’s like a politician who some people might see through but many will believe because they speak with passion and authority. In comparison, Cole sounds whiny and pathetic and it’s hard to buy his moral integrity when he was a scumbag heel two years ago.

In their defence, you often rag on Lawler and other announcers for the job they do when they’re doing just that – the job Vince demands they do. It doesn’t matter who you replaced them with, they would suddenly become a shell of themselves (like JBL did within months) or they’d be removed (like Foley). Jerry can still do amazing mic work, look at his recent/current non WWE stuff, and JBL was brilliant when he first replaced Lawler before returning full time. It’s the guy pulling their strings that makes what comes out of their mouths so awful.

I also wanted to rant on Dave talking about “the internet” and “the IWC” and how absurd it is for internet Online Listening Experience hosts to think “internet fans” doesn’t refer to them but I’ll have to save that for another week.

Until that week, I’ll continue to be your fifth biggest fan in the frikkin world,

    RiC “Special Attraction” David

  3. Hey guys! Thanks for continuing to put out all these awesome shows.

It was great to hear both Chris and Jason on this week’s show so thanks to them as well for being on it.

Since it’s October, I’d like to ask you what your all time favorite horror movie is. I’d also like to ask who you think is the scariest or creepiest wrestler. They don’t have to be in WWE. Vader has always creeped me out. I guess it’s both the mask and the fact that a guy his size could do a freaking moonsault.

I also wanted to ask what format you guys would want the audio recording for you’re 200th show to be.

    Thanks again for everything!

  4. whats up guys! I’ve been watching many episodes of WCW Nitro on the WWE Network which by the way is only $9.99, and have really enjoyed going back and watching them. I realized right away it’s all about the in ring product by not having their matches go through commercial breaks (or segments in their show). WWE has been doing the opposite for so many years and I just think the in ring work would be so much better if matches didn’t go through different segments or commercials. Watching Nitro made the matches feel important. I know WWE wouldn’t do that but just something I notice.
Rumors around the web is that there would be 2 Hell in a Cell matches, 1 featuring Rollins and the other Orton. a match between Cena and Ambrose would decide who faces who. I’m hate that idea, I automatically think whoever the loser is the face Orton, Orton would lose b/c there’s no way they would have Ambrose or Cena lose twice in one night. I hope it’s just Ambrose and Rollins, they deserve to be inside the Cell. That’s it for now have a good weekend guys!
